TOLEDO, Ohio — President Barack Obama campaigned this Labor Day at a United Auto Workers’ rally in Toledo.
The event at Scott High School was one of Mr. Obama’s final stops ahead of Tuesday’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The president was initially scheduled to visit Cleveland after the Toledo event, but later canceled in lieu of the devastation in Louisiana from Hurricane Isaac.
“In light of the President’s travel to Louisiana to meet with local officials and view ongoing response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Isaac, President Obama will no longer travel to Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, September 3,” a statement released on Friday read.
